It is also known as ‘ God’s own country’.
Kochi is the vibrant city also known as Gateway of Kerala. From time immemorial, the Arabs, British, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese have left indelible marks on the history and development of Cochin. Here you can see St Francis Church, the oldest church in India. Winding streets, crammed with 500-year-old Portuguese houses, add to the quaint charm of Kochi. A Jewish community, whose roots go back to 1,000 AD, still maintains its 16th century synagogue. . Fort Cochin is one of the country’s largest ports and a major naval base. Enjoy an evening performance of Kathakali, Kerala’s unique dance-drama. Originally performed only by men, this art form, with its intricate hand gestures, facial expressions and choreographed movements, evolved from an ancient martial art form.

After seeing unique culture of Kochi the tour proceeds to Periyar. Periyar wildlife Sanctuary is a thrilling journey following winding roads through rich tea, cardamom, pepper and rubber plantations. From here the tour moves to Munnar. Munnar is a hill station (or, summer resort), established by the British and situated on the Western Ghats (1,800 metres above sea level). This picturesque little town has gentle hills of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations.

Kumarakom is the little village on Vembanad Lake in Kerala. It offers wide variety of flora, boating and fishing experience. Houseboats (Riceboats) are country boats that were used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. With the advent of roads, bridges and ferry services, gradually the Kettuvalloms went off the scene. Now these kettuvalloms are back again as a major tourist attraction. A ride on a Kettuvallom is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters.
